Violence
We strongly support the NHS policy on zero tolerance. Anyone attending the surgery who abuses the GPs, staff or other patients be it verbally, physically or in any threatening manner whatsoever, will risk removal from the practice list. In extreme cases we may summon the police to remove offenders from the practice premises.

About The Team
Practice Manager
The practice manager will be able to help you with any administrative or non-medical aspects of your health care and treatment. She is also available to discuss any suggestions or complaints.
Receptionists
These are the first members of the team you will meet. They will endeavour to help you receive the best possible service from the practice. In order to do this they sometimes need to judge the urgency of your request and may need to ask you a few questions. Please rest assured that the rules of confidentiality apply equally to all practice staff. A brief explanation of your problem may enable them to suggest the right person to advise you, or offer the most suitable appointment. Please help them to help you.
Nurse Practitioner
For medical problems you will be offered an appointment with our nurse practitioner. She offers the same advice as our GPs. The nurse practitioner can prescribe and offers over 60 appointments a week.
Practice Nurses
Our experienced nurses hold their own clinics where you may consult them on a variety of problems, in particular:
Travel advice and vaccinations
|
Asthma management |
| Diabetes management |
Well person routine health |
| Cervical cytology (smears) |

Health Visitors
Our health visitors are based at Ashford Clinic and can be contacted by telephone on 01784 883603. They can offer confidential advice in your own home or at the clinic on all aspects of health for all age groups, in particular expectant mothers and small children. They provide weekly Parent and Baby Clinics and Postnatal Support Groups.
District Nurses
There is a district nursing team attached to the surgery. Their primary role is to provide continuity of care in the community at the request of the hospital or the practice doctors. They are able to give advice with respect to the medical or social services available. They can be contacted on 01784 883943, or via main reception.
Midwives
A team of midwives supervises antenatal and postnatal care, both at the surgery and in the home. Antenatal clinics are held on Monday afternoons for booking-in visits and Tuesday afternoons for routine follow-ups.
