Appointments

• You can make an appointment either by telephone, in person or on line at our website (you have to register for this service). 
• On the day appointments will not be given out before 8.30am. 
• Routine appointments with the doctor or nurse of your choice are available to book up to 8 weeks in advance. 
• Patients with urgent problems will be seen by the first available doctor the same day. 
• Appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals one appointment is for one person. 
• Please be punctual. 
• If you cannot attend your appointment please cancel it, as someone else can be seen. It will be at the discretion of the clinician whether you can be seen if you are late. 
• If you would like a chaperone please ask the doctor. 

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Always make sure we have up to date details of your address and telephone numbers.

Babies and children can usually be brought to the surgery even when ill and will always be fitted in quickly if necessary.

Telephone Advice

Increasing numbers of patients choose to have a telephone consultation with a doctor or a nurse to deal with their problem.

Telephone consultations can be used to get advice, test results or report on progress. Appointments are available every day and can be booked via reception.

Dr Bhatia runs a telephone advice (triage) clinic on Tuesday mornings, if he needs to see you in person, he will give you an appointment for his clinic later that day.

Access for Disabled

Assistance is always available for patients confined to wheelchairs. Our modified entrance allows easy access for the disabled.

Please inform the receptionist if you are unable to get upstairs and you will be seen in one of the downstairs consulting rooms.

The surgery has a toilet for the disabled and there is also an allocated parking space.
